Woofie’s Teams Up with Military Makeover to Support a Hero and His Dog

We are thrilled to share that Woofie’s is heading to national television! On April 2, we will be featured on “Military Makeover with  Montel®” on Lifetime TV.

Hosted by veteran and television personality Montel Williams, this uplifting show brings companies, nonprofits, and volunteers together to transform the homes and lives of veterans. We had the incredible honor of participating in a home renovation project in Lake Worth, Florida, to support a deserving military family and their beloved pet.

Meet the Dawson Family—and Luna!

The upcoming episode highlights U.S. Army Veteran Matthew Dawson, his partner Christina Jacome, their children, and their cherished dog, Luna.

Matthew served as an infantryman and rose to the rank of sergeant before his medical retirement. During his deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, he survived a grenade blast that caused severe injuries. Today, he manages the lasting effects of his service while working as a foreman at a custom welding shop and raising his family.

At the heart of the Dawson family is Luna, a two-year-old German Shepherd-Husky mix rescued from Big Dog Ranch Rescue. Pets provide vital comfort and emotional support to families navigating the impacts of military service, and Luna is no exception.

A Spa Day for LunA

While volunteers worked hard to transform the Dawson family home, our team made sure Luna received some special care of her own.

Woofie’s Co-Founder and President Amy Addington, along with local franchise owners Lisa Werner Stoller of Palm Beach-Jupiter and Michael LeMire of East Louisville, treated Luna to a fresh groom in our mobile pet spa. Team members from across our franchise network also rolled up their sleeves to volunteer with the home renovation: Danielle Krueger from South Tampa , Liz Gibbs from Delray Beach, Glenn Ferron from Space Coast, and Travis Meyerhoff from Lutz.

“A heartfelt thank you to Woofies for giving Luna the most loving care during the Military Makeover.,” Matthew and Christina shared. “Her doggie spa day was a special treat, and it meant so much to see her happy, relaxed, and pampered. Your kindness and attention made this experience even more unforgettable for our whole family.”
