Founded by Jill Dunican, a former marketing director and project manager with a serious soft spot for four‑legged friends, Woofie’s® of Scottsdale & Paradise Valley is where strategy meets snuggles. Jill traded boardrooms for belly rubs to bring top‑tier grooming, walking, and pet‑sitting services to her community. With heart, hustle, and a whole lot of dog hair, she’s created a place where pets are pampered, and humans feel right at home.

From Code to Canine Care: Jill’s Journey to Woofie’s®

After years of steering engineering projects for a global company, Jill swapped spreadsheets for squeaky toys—and never looked back. She mastered delivering value, mentoring rising talent, and keeping teams aligned, skills she now channels into building Woofie’s® of Scottsdale & Paradise Valley.

Today, she brings that same precision and playfulness to a venture where every detail matters and every tail gets a wag. From tech talk to treat time, Jill’s ready to lead her pack with purpose and joy.

A Lifetime of Puppy Love

If there’s one thread running through Jill’s life, it’s pets—big ones, small ones, fluffy ones, bossy ones, and every lovable personality in between. Her very first best friend was Betsy, a boxer with a heart as big as her paws. Since then, Jill’s home has always been a revolving door of rescued furry family members: Buttons the Husky, Muttley the Black Lab, Bear the Chocolate Lab, Ginger and Fenway the Golden Retrievers, and Belle, Jasmine, and Lacey—the majestic Maine Coon and her tabby sidekicks.

Today, Jill and her husband share life with “the twins,” a duo that couldn’t be more opposite if they tried. There’s Wrigley, a 75‑pound Black Lab mix with the energy of a linebacker, and Sir Remington (Remi), a 12‑pound pug who runs the household with the confidence of a CEO. Remi has, of course, promoted himself to Woofie’s® of Scottsdale & Paradise Valley’s Chief Mischief Officer—and also serves as the team’s unofficial security detail. (He takes both roles very seriously.)

With a lifetime of furry friendships behind her, it’s no wonder Jill built a business where every pet is treated like family.

Jumping into Community Involvement

When it comes to showing up for the community, Jill does not dip a toe in. She jumps in with all four paws, ready to make a difference for pets and the people who love them. The ink was barely dry on Jill’s brand-new business cards before she was out in the community, shaking paws and making fast friends. From trusted pet professionals to devoted pet owners, she jumped right into building meaningful connections across Scottsdale and Paradise Valley.

Jill is proud to support Foothills Animal Rescue and collaborate with fellow pet-loving businesses like Flash & Hound Pet Photography and The Dog Wizard Dog Training, along with an outstanding network of local veterinarians who share her commitment to exceptional pet care. As a member of the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce, Jill is equally passionate about strengthening local partnerships and supporting small business growth throughout the local community.

She’s especially excited to bring pet owners together through a series of community events and tail-wagging yappy hours at some of the area’s favorite dog-friendly patios. Stops include the North Scottsdale Farmer’s Market, OHSO Brewing & Distillery and Pinnacle Brewing Co., where great drinks, happy humans, and well-socialized pups make for the perfect day or evening out.
