The People Behind the Press
All of this attention makes a lot more sense once you know who we are. We're Cody and Mia Erickson, newlyweds who've called the Austin area home for years, and we opened Woofie's of North Austin out of our shared love for animals. Cody brings a background in business marketing and development, while Mia draws on her career in healthcare and client relations (she also goes by "Chief Barketing Officer").
We recently adopted Sullivan, a lab-pointer mix we found wandering near Mia's workplace, not long after losing our beloved Boxer, Hank. That same instinct for showing up for animals carries through our business: General Manager Sunni Scalici brings more than two decades of pet industry experience, including a background in low-stress handling methods, and our whole team pitches in monthly with the Central Texas SPCA. Cody has also spent the past two years fundraising for ALS research, a cause close to our family's heart.
It's that same mix of local roots, hands-on care, and genuine community involvement that's earning us a growing spotlight, from national pet industry press to the neighbors we serve every day. Meet the team.
