Meet Our Team

Kristina Castro: Franchise Owner

For Kristina Castro, Woofie’s® of Montclair represents a lifelong dream come true. Combining her deep love for animals with over a decade of experience in retail and spa management, Kristina has honed the ability to lead with care and compassion. From fostering strong team dynamics to supporting pet owners through life’s tougher moments, Kristina ensures that every interaction is rooted in integrity and empathy. 

A devoted pet parent to Salamander Risotto and Cholula Rye (domestic shorthairs) and Crumpet (a spirited Shih Tzu), Kristina understands the bond between pets and their families. It’s that understanding that drives her to make Woofie’s® of Montclair stand out in every possible way. She’s also a proud member of the Montclair community, a place where she dreams of making a meaningful impact on local families.

Outside of work, Kristina is an avid baker (Dutch apple pie is her specialty!) and is growing her skills as a plant mom. Along with her wife, Kristina shares a love for music, a passion that has taken them on adventures to see their favorite artists worldwide—including a memorable music cruise where they got engaged in front of thousands!  

Gabriela Cobos: General Manager

With eight years of experience in the veterinary field, Gabriela Cobos brings a wealth of knowledge and a calming presence to Woofie’s® of Montclair. From puppies and kittens to senior pets, Gabriela’s background as a veterinary technician ensures that every aspect of our pet care services is approached with an unmatched focus on animal health and well-being. Her hands-on expertise in animal CPR and fear-free techniques shapes the high level of care clients can expect.

Gabriela is the proud pet parent of Cameryn Michaels, a six-year-old Pitbull mix, Rupaw, a three-year-old domestic shorthair, and Miko Mateo, a playful lab mix puppy. These “fur babies” remind Gabriela daily why she’s so passionate about providing trusted, compassionate pet care in the Montclair community.

Outside of her professional role, Gabriela enjoys hiking, chasing new picnic spots, and thriving as a (somewhat new!) plant mom. She’s excited about plans to collaborate with local pet rescues and shelters, ensuring that Woofie’s® of Montclair is not just a business but also a positive force in the community.
