Every walker on our team is background-checked and insured, with hands-on experience handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. We also prioritize Consistent Care: whenever possible, your dog walks with the same walker every visit. A familiar face and a predictable routine can make a real difference, especially for dogs that take time to warm up to new people. Regular daily walks can also reduce anxiety, prevent boredom, and curb the destructive behaviors that show up when a dog has pent-up energy with nowhere to go.

How Our Dog Walking Process Works

We start every new client relationship with a complimentary In-Home Consultation. During this visit, we learn your dog’s daily routine, behavioral tendencies, preferences, and any special handling instructions, and we use that information to pair your dog with the right walker. If you’d like to meet your assigned walker before the first walk, you can request a Meet & Greet at your home. A fee applies to compensate the walker for their time.

From there, walk frequency is entirely up to you. We offer a Tailored Walk Schedule, whether that’s daily, a few times a week, or occasional visits when life gets busy. Same-day bookings are accommodated when availability allows. After every walk, you’ll receive Digital Updates through the Woofie’s mobile app: visit notes, photos from the walk, and GPS tracking of the route your dog covered.

Walk Formats & Visit Lengths

We offer two walk formats so every dog gets the setting that suits them best:

• Solo walks provide one-on-one attention, ideal for dogs that prefer a quieter experience or are nervous around other dogs.
• Small-group walks are available for social dogs and are matched by size, personality, and energy level.

Visit durations are fully customizable at 15, 20, 30, and 45 minutes, or a full hour. Walks that fall on major holidays, including New Year’s Eve and Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Black Friday, and Christmas Eve and Day, are subject to a Holiday Schedule surcharge. One hundred percent of that surcharge goes directly to the walker working that day. Additional fees may apply for households with multiple dogs or extra-large breeds.

Delafield sits within our Waukesha County service area, and our walkers know the local parks and neighborhood trails well. Under Waukesha County park rules, dogs must be leashed at all times outside designated off-leash areas, with a maximum leash length of 6 feet. Our walkers follow those rules on outings, helping keep your dog safe and helping keep you in compliance.

How Often Does Your Dog Need a Walk?

Walk frequency depends on age, breed, and energy level. Here’s a general starting point to help you plan:

• Puppies (8 weeks to 1 year): Short, frequent walks work best, roughly 5 to 10 minutes per month of age, 2 to 4 times a day.
• Adult dogs (1 to 7 years): Most adults do well with 30 to 60 minutes of walking at least once or twice daily.
• Senior dogs (7 years and older): Around 30 minutes of daily walking, often split into shorter outings, helps maintain mobility without overdoing it.
• High-energy breeds: Border Collies, Labs, Huskies, and similar breeds often need 60 to 90 minutes split across two or three walks a day. Moderate- and low-energy breeds typically do well with 30 to 60 minutes.

If your dog seems restless, is barking more than usual, has started chewing things it shouldn’t, or has gained weight recently, more frequent walks are worth trying.
