Why Winnetka Dog Owners Trust Woofie’s® of Evanston-North Shore
We hold a 4.9-star average rating on Google because we treat every dog as an individual. Some dogs need a brisk, mile-long stride to burn off energy. Others are perfectly happy with a slow, sniff-filled stroll around the block. We tailor each walk to what your dog actually enjoys, rather than fitting them into a one-size routine.
Every walker on our team is background-checked, insured, and experienced handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. We take time to get to know your dog and your household before the first visit, building a relationship rather than just showing up at the door.
How Our Dog Walking Process Works
Every new dog walking client in Winnetka starts with a complimentary In-Home Consultation. We come to you, learn your dog’s routine, behavior, and preferences, and identify the right walker match. No forms, no guesswork.
What happens after the consultation:
- Meet & Greet: Before the first walk, you can request a Meet & Greet with your assigned walker. A fee applies to compensate the walker for their time, but many clients find it well worth it for peace of mind.
- Tailored Walk Schedule: Choose daily, weekly, or occasional visits. Same-day bookings are available when scheduling allows.
- Consistent Care: We strive to match your dog with the same walker on each visit, building a bond and a predictable routine your dog can count on.
- Digital Updates: After every walk, you’ll receive a visit report through the Woofie’s app with notes, photos, and GPS tracking of the route.

Serving Winnetka & the North Shore
Our service area spans the North Shore communities of Illinois, including Winnetka, Wilmette, Glencoe, Glenview, and Highland Park. If your dog loves the outdoors, you already know Centennial Dog Beach, the on-leash Lake Michigan beach run by the Winnetka Park District. Our walkers know the neighborhood, the terrain, and what makes the North Shore a great place to be a dog.
Finding the Right Walk Frequency for Your Dog
Age and breed both shape how much walking a dog actually needs. Here’s a general guide to help you choose the right visit length and frequency.
Walking needs by life stage:
- Puppies (8 weeks to 1 year): Short, frequent walks several times a day to support house-training and build stamina
- Adult dogs (1 to 7 years): At least 30 to 60 minutes of walking once or twice daily
- Senior dogs (7+ years): Around 30 minutes daily, sometimes split into shorter sessions
- High-energy breeds: More total walking time and more frequent visits than lower-energy dogs
Not sure which visit length or frequency fits your dog? We can talk through it during your In-Home Consultation and build a Tailored Walk Schedule from there.
